The YW Typography Contest!
I was meandering around Manhattan today admiring things with letters and randomly thought of a fun little contest for YW:
Submit your photos of a Y and a W (MEGA bonus points for a ! too), and I’ll post it to the blog. It doesn’t have to be spotted in the wild—you can doodle the letters, cut them from magazines, make them with your body YMCA style (good luck with the W though)—whatever. It can also be two different pictures of a Y and a W, side by side.
The post with the most notes by the release date of the Yeah Write Literary Magazine will get a free copy!

: Horror/Mystery/Strange-tales writing contest
The contest is officially open now and will close October 12th, 2012.
The guidelines are simple. Write a short horror, mystery, or strange-tale story. Try to keep it under 3,000 words. Gore is acceptable, but use good taste. I won’t disqualify you for gore, but too much gore will be a turn-off. I’m looking for stories that build suspense and hopefully genuinely scare me.
The winners will get a copy of my book and promoted on my blog. If I get 60+ submissions, I will also provide a monetary prize along with the book and promotion.

It will not be anonymous, but I will judge as fairly as humanly possible.
