Thank you so, so much to all of you who submitted stories to the Yeah Write Literary Magazine. We had a total of 129 submissions for only 5 spots, so it was really hard to choose!

I hate to sound shallow, but are the people you publish paid for their work? Is the magazine strictly viewed online? Do you suppose it's something that could be put on a résumé?
Good question! And a good time to start talking about these types of things, now that submissions are closed and the magazine will start coming together.
Since this is the first and very fledgling issue of the magazine, no, contributors will not be paid for their work. That’s pretty standard for all but the most prestigious/old magazines.
The magazine will be available in 2 forms: to download as a PDF, which is really cool because if you have a tablet or smart phone you’ll be able to read it like an ebook or any other magazine. That will cost about $3. You can also order a print copy, which will be closer to $8. Of each of these prices, I’m only making a couple of dollars, and that money will be used to pay for designers and developers to build Yeah Write into a more comprehensive website, ala WattPad or Figment. That’s actually why the magazine was started.
If it would benefit your resume for a writing-related job, you could totally put it on your resume! I even put Yeah Write on my resume as a job haha.

The Writing Box: Coping With Rejection
Once you start putting your writing out there, rejection is inevitable (yes, it happens to all writers. ALL writers.) So how do you cope with that rejection? Here’s some quick dos and don’ts:

- Email them to point out what a huge mistake they’ve made
- Rant about them online, telling the…
^These are all good things to remember as I start sending out decline letters to people who submitted to the mag. I’m so sorry! I hope you’ll still write, be a yeah writer, and know that Yeah Write still loves you. We’ve had over 120 submissions for 5 story spots so it’s been really hard to choose!
