foxyslytherpuff-deactivated2012:
I'm sorry if you've been asked this before. I'm a very recent follower, so forgive my potential ignorance.
I was wondering what you thought of NaNoWriMo, Camp NaNo, et cetera? I've taken part in NaNoWriMo since 2010, and I think it was a good place to start for me. However, looking back at the work I've done, it's mostly pure crap. I know the first draft of anything isn't going to be perfect, but it's more than a little frustrating to find that something you've spent so much work on is horrible, even after going through nearly half a dozen edits. But, on the other hand, the first draft is an excellent place to start, and it's a great foundation upon which to construct a novel and improve upon. One just has to be dedicated to making it the best they can, and know where the line between a finished manuscript and editing it to death lies.
Haha. I apologize for the rambling!
We actually did have a conversation about NaNoWriMo in April, you can read that discussion here: http://yeahwriters.tumblr.com/tagged/nanowrimo
But no worries, obv you didn’t see it, cause you’re a new follower (yay!).
We’re definitely going to be talking a lot more about it in November, and I’m scheming some kind of special prompt just for it! So stay tuned.
