Livia’s “I’ve Never Done NaNo Before” Question #2: Over-Writing

Have any of you ever gotten to around 50,000 words at the end of the month and you’re only like halfway through the arc of your story? Ie, if you reach the word limit but don’t finish the actually story, is that still winning?
