Today marks the start of Halloween week on Yeah Write!
I love love love ghost stories and scary stories. Remember those “children’s” books with the horrifying covers, Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark? I read all of those. Nowadays I’m really into creepy stories that aren’t explicitly “paranormal”, like this short story collection I just read called Stay Awake by Dan Chaon. It’s more a mood/atmospherical element.
Anyway. Today until Halloween, all prompts will be Halloween-related, and I’d love if anyone who had questions about writing scary stories, suspense, paranormal, or gore would pipe up now.
I think Halloween is my favorite holiday. Besides Christmas, of course. And the 4th of July. And New Year’s.
