Is there a setting somewhere so I can disable fan mail?

Whose idea even was it to invent that feature? It’s so annoying. I can’t publish questions to blog that I can’t answer, the formatting is stupid, and when I reply it takes me to that greyed-out “Sent!” page and doesn’t let me click out of it. Uggggh I hate it! And I put directions right on the ask page asking people to please not use it, and I still get messages in that format! Raaaa!
