What about that awful cliche (seen mostly in Meg Cabot books, but really all over YA and "chick lit") where the character is mostly a grounded, dweeby sort who begins the story head over heels for someone completely wrong for. All the while her best friends/best friend's brother/old neighbor/Michael Moscovitz teases and flirts with her and bends over backwards to make her life easier. And yet she only "sees" him after she's hurt his feelings or embarrassed himself. IT MUST STOP.
Yes! Hate this! Super cliche.
