Re: Title. I try to follow Poe's advice about mood. He said a story should have a single mood and every sentence should build toward that mood. So I always try to have a title that reflects the mood. For example, I wrote a story about a zombie who has a picky taste in brains (only eats scientists' and artists'), and I titled it Connoisseur. The story's mood is literary, 'high-class', even pretentious, and that word captures it just so. The mood is a mountain, the title is the peak.
