paperfault:
Hi, I'm Victoria. I'm currently writing a magazine article for uni about book piracy and as your followers are possibly interested in getting published at some point I have a couple of questions that you guys might be able to answer. Do you agree/disagree with book piracy? Why? (John Green disagrees and Neil Gaiman seems to be okay with it) And do you think that book pirates are being disrespectful towards authors or are they just trying to share the written word? Thanks so much in advance!

I kinda waffle on this debate, in the same way I do about music piracy. I don’t illegally download ebooks, but I do have a Kindle, which many in the publishing world consider halfway to piracy. But then again, since I got my Kindle last Christmas, I’ve spent hundreds of dollars on ebooks instead of getting them from the library like I used to. Plus, don’t libraries sort of make this debate a moot point? People have always been able to read books for free.

Anyway, if you have anything to add to the debate, please send paperfault an ask.

*Update: Her ask box seems to be broken, so until that’s fixed, I guess nevermind!
