Phew! For those of you who live in the Northeast of the US, like me, today is the beginning of a major heat wave. It is HOT, especially considering how mild spring has been so far.
Hot days are common settings for stories, so if you live somewhere where it’s really hot today, why not take the oppurtunity to really study how heat makes you feel? Think about all five of your senses—how does your skin feel? Moist? Burnt? Are you seeing those ripple lines in the road? Is it quieter outside because more people are inside?
Write about the heat from the first or the third person, as if you’re opening onto a scene on a hot day.
