Writing in english when it is not my first language has been one of my biggest dilemmas. I'm from Brazil and I write both in Portuguese and in English. What I've been told about all this is that, yes, the publishing industry in English speaking countries is ridiculously bigger, faster and more diversified, however, the market in other languages isn't as saturated as it is in English, which means you could start a whole new niche by writing in your own language. So, pros and cons to both sides.
