I think a vast majority of people kind of miss the point of NaNo. It's the writing part that you're supposed to focus on. The novel's created aren't supposed to be finished, perfect masterpieces. Even novels that you take time to write aren't final. It's a first draft. Also, to say that books take planning...I think that depends on the person. Some people's best work comes out of pressure to get it done quickly. This is my first year doing it and I love it. :3
