I love NaNoWriMo. I've done it for several years. I haven't taken it too seriously in years past though because I always put school first. This is the first year where I have more free time so I'm staying on pace for 50,000 words. I can see both sides of the argument, but I think a lot of the negative voices ignore the fact that work produced during NaNoWriMo is no where near finished. There's a lot of revision that needs to be done in order to make it presentable.

Yeah I think that’s what it’d help me the most with—just getting words down on the page. Because the revision process is almost a bigger part of story writing than writing the first draft.
