What!? What is this beautiful image above, you ask (which gets bigger when I click on it)?! This wonderful thing that answers all I ever wanted to know about how my manuscript gets onto a Barnes & Noble shelf or onto Amazon or the iBook store?

But wait, it gets better. If you click the link, you’ll be taken to Publishing Trendsetter (the website with which I interned this past summer, which is all about helping young people in publishing, or hoping to go into publishing). There you will find videos to accompany each “step”, profiling a young person who works in that department of publishing. Cool, huh? For all of you who ask me questions about publishing, here is your answer!

I’m so excited to finally see it (more about my involvement in its creation under the cut), and hope that you guys find it helpful as you continue on your writing endeavors. I also hope everyone will reblog the shit out of this because I think it’s really cool and really useful and comes from a very reliable source!

What I won’t take credit for: the execution. I left my internship to come back to school when this was still in its base stages, and my wonderful boss at my internship, Elisabeth Watson, has since commisioned someone to make the infographic and tracked down all of the people featured in the accompanying videos (I believe the videos were her idea, too. Genius!).
